ILEF Dergisi is a peer-reviewed journal in the field of communication research and media studies. It seeks to reflect the variety of intellectual traditions and multidisciplinary approaches to provide a free and critical platform for scholars. It is an open access journal, published biannually both in printed and on-line versions by Faculty of Communication at Ankara University; the oldest institute in the field of communication in Turkey and in the surrounding region.
ILEF Dergisi encourages contributions in areas such as the conjunctions of class, gender, ethnicity and sexuality in audiovisual culture, conventional and new medias, histories and theories of journalism, film, television, video, and digital media; and politically engaged approaches to a range of media practices.

ILEF Dergisi encourages contributions in areas such as the conjunctions of class, gender, ethnicity and sexuality in audiovisual culture, conventional and new medias, histories and theories of journalism, film, television, video, and digital media; and politically engaged approaches to a range of media practices.
It is an open access journal, published biannually both in printed and on-line versions by Faculty of Communication at Ankara University; the oldest institute in the field of communication in Turkey and in the surrounding region. İlef Dergisi adheres to the following ethical principles and publication policy, formulated based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Directive, which can be found on https://publicationethics.org/.
İLEF Dergisi does not demand a submission or a publication fee.
Review and Publication Process
İLEF Dergisi accepts submissions and carries out reviewing process in an ongoing basis. There is no deadline for submissions except for themed special issues.
The submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial board in order to determine whether the manuscript is appropriate for the aim and scope of Ilef Dergisi and whether it displays potential for quality academic publication. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening process are sent out for peer-review. Manuscripts that are accepted at the end of the review process are published in the forthcoming issue. According to the resolution of the Editorial Board, 5 to 7 articles at most can be published in each issue. In the case that the number of accepted manuscripts exceed this limit, the publication of the most recently accepted manuscripts are postponed to the following issue.

Revision and Withdrawal Processes
Revisions may be demanded from the manuscripts submitted to İLEF Dergisi by the editor or the reviewers. The authors comply with the revision demands as they see fit. The authors are asked to account for the revisions they choose not to make.
The authors have the right to withdraw their submissions at any point of the publication process.
Editors' Responsibilities
İLEF Dergisi is published by Ankara University Faculty of Communication (İLEF). The editor-in-chief and ownership status is held by the faculty dean in the name of İLEF.
The editorial board of the journal is composed of members put forth by the departments in İLEF in every two years. The editors have absolute editorial independence with respect to Ankara University.
Ankara University Faculty of Communication publicizes and distributes İLEF Dergisi; and protects the printed versions and the intellectual property rights of authors and partners in publishing.

Lisans ve lisansüstü eğitimini Ankara Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. 1992-98 arası Ankara Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Fakültesi’nde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştı, 1998'de doktorasını tamamladı. 1999’dan bu yana Ankara Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi’nde çalışıyor; 2001 yılından bu yana da ODTÜ’de Film Analysis dersini vermektedir. 2004’de doçent, 2010’da profesör oldu. çeşitli dönemlerde Bölüm Başkanlığı, Senatörlük (2010-2012) ve Dekanlık (20 Eylül 2012-15 Kasım 2015) yaptı. Üç dönem İLDEK (İletişim Fakülteleri Dekanları) Yürütme Kurulu Başkanlığı yaptı. Sinema Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olan Öztürk, halen İletişim Fakültesi Radyo Televizyon ve Sinema Bölüm Başkanı'dır. Sinema alanında çeşitli kitap ve makaleleri bulunmaktadır. Türkiye’nin ilk hakemli sinema dergisi sinecine: Sinema Araştırmaları Dergisi’nin kurucularındandır ve editörlüğünü yapmıştır, halen derginin yayın kurulundadır. 2014 yılında dekanlığı döneminde yayımlanmaya başlayan İlef Dergisi'nin Yayın Kurulu'ndadır, çeşitli sayılarda editörlük de yapmıştır.

Doç. Dr. Gaye Aslı SANCAR DEMREN Galatasaray Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi Halkla İlişkiler Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olarak görev yapmaktadır. 2012 yılında Marmara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü'nde “Uluslararası Halkla İlişkiler Yöntemi Olarak Kamu Diplomasisi: Türkiye İçin Bir Model Önerisi” başlıklı tezi ile Doktor ünvanını almış ve Türkiye’de iletişim bilimleri alanında kamu diplomasisi konulu ilk doktora tezini savunmuştur.
Sancar Demren’in “Kamu Diplomasisi ve Uluslararası Halkla İlişkiler”, “Kamu Diplomasisinde Yeni Yaklaşımlar ve Örnekler”, “Kurumsal İletişim Bağlamında Kurumsal Sürdürülebilirlik İletişimi” ve “Kurumların Yeni İletişim Biçimleri” ve "Dünyadan Örneklerle Kamu Diplomasisi" isimli kitapları ve de kamu diplomasisi, halkla ilişkiler, kurumsal iletişim, kurumsal sürdürülebilirlik iletişimi alanlarında çalışmaları bulunmaktadır.
Halkla İlişkiler, Kurumsal İletişim, Kamu Diplomasisi, Kurumsal Sürdürülebilirlik alanlarında çalışmakta ve eserler vermektedir.
Sırrı Emrah Üçer, born in Istanbul in 1981, graduated from Vefa Lisesi in 1999. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University in 2003. He furthered his education by completing a master's program in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Istanbul University in 2008. In 2018, he successfully finished his doctoral studies in the field of Modern Turkish History at the Atatürk Institute of Boğaziçi University.
Since 2009, he has been actively engaged as a faculty member in the Department of Economics at Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. His primary research interests encompass the fields of economics and history.

Emel Ozdora-Aksak is an associate professor at the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University, Ankara Turkey. She received her Ph.D in Mass Communication from the University of Florida in 2009 and worked for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Turkey Country Office as a communication specialist before transferring back to an academic career. Her research interests include organizational communication, corporate social responsiblity, public relations,and social advocacy. She has received two research grants from the Arthur Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication on refugees, framing and advocacy. She is currently working on a research project funded by Chicago University on healthcare provision to refugee and migrant communities in Turkey. Her research has been published in Discourse and Communication, Public Relations Review, American Behavioral Scientist, Voluntas, and Business Ethics: A European Review.
