ILEF Journal is a peer-reviewed publication in the fields of communication research and media studies. It provides a free and critical platform for researchers, reflecting diverse intellectual traditions and interdisciplinary approaches. The journal is published biannually in May and November by Ankara University's Faculty of Communication, the oldest academic institution in the field of communication, and is available online with open access.
ILEF Journal welcomes submissions on visual-auditory culture, traditional and new media, exploring themes such as class, social gender, and ethnicity. It is open to studies that question the history and theories of journalism, film, television, video, and digital media, and that critically examine the field of communication.ILEF Journal is indexed by Clarivate Analytics, ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index), and TR Dizin, enhancing its visibility and accessibility to a global audience of scholars and practitioners.
The contents of the journal are open access and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
